Fourth Class
Fourth Class
We had a fantastic time celebrating Maths Week in 4th Class! We teamed up with our 2nd Class buddies to complete a fun maths trail, putting our problem-solving skills to the test.
We also became data detectives! We wanted to find out who the favourite singer was among the senior classes, so we designed our own survey questions, collected the data and presented our findings using multiple bar charts.
We explored growth mindset too, creating colourful posters to show the Power of Yet and remind ourselves that we might not be able to do something yet, but with practice and perseverance, we can keep improving.
To finish off the fun, we even squeezed in some maths workouts in the classroom!
It was a brilliant week of learning, teamwork and discovering that maths is all around us!
During Friendship Week, we joined up with 2nd Class for some creative friendship bracelet making! We enjoyed working together, sharing ideas and making colourful bracelets for ourselves or a friend.
It was a lovely way to celebrate kindness, friendship and working together across the school!
We had a fantastic time at the Tag Rugby Tournament in Monivea! We joined forces with 3rd Class and played against lots of other schools in a fun-filled mini tournament.
There was plenty of teamwork, running, passing and cheering throughout the day. We had so much fun and were very proud of our teamwork and sportsmanship!
We became History Detectives as we investigated the story of Newcastle School! We examined old documents, photographs and fact files to find out what school life was like in the past.
We worked together to observe, question, compare and piece together clues, discovering how our local school and community have changed over time.
We have been exploring Sound and Materials in Science! We carried out a fun experiment to investigate how different materials can affect the way sound travels and how vibrations create sound.
We made predictions, tested different materials and discussed what we observed — learning about sound through hands-on investigation!
We have been enjoying Tag Rugby on Fridays with our coach! We are developing our passing, catching, running and teamwork skills while learning the rules of the game.
There has been lots of energy, teamwork and fun as we build our confidence and skills on the pitch!
We have been busy exploring Place Value and Addition in Maths! We have been using lots of hands-on activities, games and practical resources to build our understanding of numbers and develop our problem-solving skills.
From building numbers to playing addition games, we have been learning that Maths can be both fun and active!
