Senior Infants
We really enjoyed our Teddy Bears Picnic. We all brought in a cuddly friend and enjoyed a lovely picnic in the playground. We enjoyed sharing treats with our friends.
We had such fun during our Sports Day and the best part was definitly the Ice Cream. We also really enjoyed the boxing and fun day with Junior Infants.
Junior and Senior Infants went on School Tour to Turoe Pet Farm. We had such a great day playing on the bouncy castles and slides, in Jungle Town and of course feeding and petting the animals. The bus journey was also alot of fun!
Senior Infants made some tasty Rice Krispie buns. We thought they were very tasty and yummy.
Senior Infants learned all about keeping safe around water, the meaning of flags at the beaches and the importance of listening to a lifeguard.
Senior Infants are taking part in the Pickerpals programme. Every week children will use the Picker pack to help clean up the local area. Senior Infants love Pickerpals!
Senior Infants planted lettuce in the garden. We all took turns to place both lettuce plants and lettuce seed. We watered the plants and really enjoyed helping improve the school garden.
We had great fun making our Easter Egg Baskets and using these to gather up the eggs which were hidden all around the school garden. Thank you to our 5th Class buddies for helping us find them. We traded our plastic eggs for chocolate eggs back in the classroom!
We love using our STEM skills to construct buildings, vehicles etc. using lots of different materials!
We have thoroguhly enoyed our coaching sessions with Sean. We have learned lots of different skills, improved our ball handling skills and enjoyed all the games we have played.
Senior Infats enjoyed some tasty pancakes and learned about the history of Pancake Tuesday. Our favourite part was definitely choosing and eating our toppings.
Senior Infants had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day. We really enjoyed reading with our 5th Class Buddies!
Senior Infants enjoyed a wonerful visit to the Teddy Bear Hospital in Galway.
Senior Infants had a great time meeting their heroes from Athenry Camogie Team.
Trip to the Aquarium
We were so lucky to get the chance to visit the Galway Atlantaquaria recently with Junior Infants. Maria, a marine biologist showed us some cool science experiments where we explored the differences between fresh and salt water and sinking and floating. Then, we had a tour of the aquarium and spotted everything from clownfish to piranhas!
Procedural writing
We have been learning about procedural writing. We have been practicing listening to instructions and giving them. It was so much fun putting this into practice making jam sandwiches and we quickly understood the importance of giving clear instructions. The highlight was getting to taste the sandwiches at the end!
Science week
We really enjoyed Science Week in Senior Infants. We did some fun experiments in class. We did an experiment with pepper, water and soap where the pepper acted as germs, helping us understand the importance of washing our hands with soap. We also did a walking water experiment and learnt about primary colours and how they mix to make secondary colours.
On Friday we were invited to visit 5th class to see our buddies who spent lots of time preparing some wonderful science experiments for us. Thanks to Ms Kearney and 5th class for their hard work.
