Sixth Class
Sixth Class
Our girls’ football team recently enjoyed a fantastic day out at Croke Park, where they took part in a series of exciting matches.
The girls showed great skill, teamwork and determination as they faced strong opposition from schools in Mallow and Clonmel. Each game was played in great spirit, with plenty of excellent passing, scoring and defending on display.
It was a memorable experience for all involved to play in such an iconic stadium, and the girls represented the school with pride both on and off the pitch. Well done to everyone for their effort, teamwork and sportsmanship!
Here is a compilation video of the day.

We joined Junior Infants for paired reading to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 5th March.
6th Class Hoodies!
There was great excitement in 6th Class when our new hoodies arrived!
We spent time designing them ourselves, choosing the colours, style and overall look. Everyone had a chance to share ideas and vote on our favourites, making it a real team effort.
We are very proud of the final result and can’t wait to wear them throughout our final year in primary school!
Our 5th and 6th Classes enjoyed a fantastic visit from the “Bin It” anti-litter programme, performed by a talented two-person team dedicated to promoting the importance of keeping Galway clean and litter-free.
The show was highly interactive, with plenty of opportunities for the children to take part, offer suggestions, and help the characters make positive choices. Through humour, role-play, and engaging storytelling, “Bin It” highlighted how simple everyday actions can make a big difference to our community and environment.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience and left with a stronger understanding of how we can all play our part in reducing litter and protecting our beautiful city.
A big thank you to the “Bin It” team for such an inspiring and enjoyable performance!
Coding Workshop
Our 6th Class had a fantastic time taking part in an interactive coding workshop using the Scratch programming platform. The pupils worked in teams to design and program their very own Dodgeball-style games, complete with moving targets, score counters, and player controls.
Interschools Show Jumping Competition
(Written by Miya Tully)
On Sunday the 16th of November 2025, I competed in a horse riding show representing the school in the Interschools show jumping competition in Oughterard. Myself and my pony Daisy were there. As part of the competition we had to clear 70cm jumps. There were 22 people competing. We had a clear round in round one and we moved on to the second round. In the second round we completed our jumps in optimum time. I completed the course in 38 seconds came in 4th place. It was a great day and all of us had great fun.
