Maths Week
We are thrilled to share that we celebrated Maths Week at our school from October 15th to 18th! Throughout the week, students took part in a variety of fun and educational activities designed to foster a love for mathematics.
Highlights of the week included:
A "Guess How Many Sweets in the Jar" competition, which ran across the entire school, adding some excitement and competition!
Each class participated in a problem-solving challenge, encouraging students to think creatively and work together to find solutions.
Students enjoyed engaging activities such as maths trails around the school, creating their own shape monsters, and competing in a lively Maths Quiz!
It was a fantastic week filled with lots of learning, collaboration, and fun! We're already looking forward to next year's Maths Week!

Izak 9
In association with Galway Education Centre, our 5th and 6th classes had the opportunity to take part in a number of interactive maths sessions using Izak 9 maths resource during maths week. Izak 9 cubes allow learners to engage in hands on learning with abstract maths concepts such as prime numbers. It also develops their team work skills, problem solving skills and ability to explain their mathematical thinking. During maths week, both classes also engaged in a live zoom lesson utilising the maths resource Izak 9. Great fun was had utilising the cubes during Maths Week. Favourite activities include eliminator and total recall. Thank you to Mr. Treacy for co-ordinating the initiative.
