Green Schools

Green School

We have received 9 Green School Flags  in recognition of our commitment and hard work in the following areas

We are currently working towards our 10th green school flag- Global Citizenship-Food and Biodiversity

The committee:

Our Green Schools committee has been selected.  Our committed is elected annually from each class throughout the school and work together to make our school a greener and more sustainable place for all our children.

Our committee meet regularly to discuss new ideas and incentives in promoting and encouraging a Greener school. We appreciate that each and every one of us have a role in caring for our environment and where better to start but here at school.

Bird Feeders

The Green-Schools Committee have been very busy recently. They are hoping to attract more birds and insects to the school garden. To make this happen they have hung up three bird feeders which will hopefully help lots of birds survive over the winter. In the spring some of these birds might also nest around the school.

Green-Schools Helpers

The students on the Green-Schools Committee are so busy that they needs lots of helpers from all the other classes in the school. Each class now has a Light Monitor who will make sure that the lights are on only when they are needed. All classes also have a Water Monitor to make sure that no water is wasted in the school. Finally each class now has a Recycling Monitor to make sure that everyone uses the correct bin. We are lucky to have so many helpful children in the school.
